School Uniform and Dress Code

Uniform Requirements

Students in years 7-11 are required to wear a school uniform. Students must purchase one standard uniform and one physical education uniform. 

Students are asked to wear comfortable running shoes to school each day. High heels, boots and sandals are not permitted.

Policy Purpose
Hong Kong Limai School  is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and secure environment for all students. 

This policy aligns with:  

  • Hong Kong Education Bureau (EDB) Guidelines 
  • Cambridge International Safeguarding Standards
  • UN Convention on the Rights of the Child


Definitions
Abuse: Physical, emotional, sexual, or neglect (including cyberbullying).

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Mrs. Melanie Kirk

I Concern: Any observation or disclosure indicating risk to a child. 

 

Key Principles

Student-Centered: All actions prioritize the child’s welfare.

Prevention: Proactive education on online safety, consent, and mental health.

Zero Tolerance: Immediate action on breaches (e.g., staff misconduct).

Staff & Volunteer Requirements

Mandatory Checks:

  • Hong Kong Police Criminal Record Check (for all staff).
  • Reference verification (2+ professional references).


Training:
Annual safeguarding training (including spotting signs of radicalization or self-harm).


Reporting Procedures

Step 1: Any concern (observed or disclosed) must be reported to the DSL within 24 hours via:  Email the secure online form to safeguarding@limaihk.edu
  

Step 2: DSL assesses risk and escalates to:  

  • EDB Child Protection Unit (for severe cases).
  • Hong Kong Social Welfare Department (if family intervention is needed).

Step 3: Document all actions in the Confidential Safeguarding Log (stored securely for 7 years).  

Curriculum Integration:
Year 7–9: Online safety workshops (aligned with Cambridge Digital Literacy). 

Year 10–11: Consent and healthy relationships (via PSHE lessons).

Anonymous Reporting: Students can report concerns via posters with QR code
